Programs in France
Program Summary

- Language: No language requirement
- Age: 14 - 18 years old
- Application Deadline: closed
Students who choose the Month Immersion program in France will live with a host family and experience the French way of life firsthand, while practicing their conversational French. The host family experience is the key component of this program and enables participants to gain a unique perspective into French culture while providing invaluable language contact with native French speakers. Participants do not attend school.
Experience
French families often enjoy long dinners together during the weekend. These meals are a great time to exchange ideas with your host family. Many families have pets--in fact, pets outnumber children in France!
The French love to watch team sports, such as soccer and rugby, but tend to participate in individual sports, including: cycling, fishing, tennis, hiking, skiing, and sailing. Many people also enjoy pétanque, a form of bowling that originated in southern France. The annual Tour de France cycling race and the French Open tennis tournament are popular national events. In addition to sports, popular activities include visiting museums, attending plays and concerts, or watching television.
Program Details
