High School Study Abroad Basics

Study abroad with Intrax and you will have the chance to completely immerse yourself in another culture. You will have the opportunity to discover a new country, become more independent, improve your language skills, and make life-long friends. As a high school study abroad student, you can choose from over 40 study abroad programs in 16 different countries, varying in length from a summer program to an academic year.

Intrax Study Abroad, formerly known as AYUSA Study Abroad, is a premier organization dedicated to international education and cultural exchange. Intrax Study Abroad is a division of Intrax Cultural Exchange, a family of organizations devoted to cultivating international understanding through cultural exchange and educational travel, with operations in over 60 countries worldwide. Since 1980, Intrax Cultural Exchange has provided dynamic study abroad experiences for more than 40,000 high school and college students, enabling them to live and study all over the world for summer, semester and academic year programs.

All-inclusive High School Study Abroad Programs

As an Intrax Study Abroad student you will receive:

  • Round-trip airfare from a major international airport near your home (in the continental U.S.) including domestic and international flights
  • Accommodation
    • Placement with a carefully selected host family (most programs)
    • Dorm accommodation in a residence hall (some summer programs)
  • Meals with your host family or in the residence hall caféteria
  • Placement in a local high school for Academic Year and Semester programs
