High School Summer Programs
Intrax offers two exciting summer programs for high school students who want to explore the world on a 4-week summer abroad program!
High School Summer Cultural Exploration:
Attend language or cultural classes in the morning and enjoy organized activities in the afternoon; activities range from salsa dancing and cooking classes, to scenic bike rides. Live with a carefully selected host family. These four-week high school programs include:
- Language or cultural classes five days per week
- Homestay with a carefully selected local family or dormstay
- Organized weekday activities (2 to 3 afternoons per week)
- Included weekend excursions
Specific summer program highlights include:
- England, Oxford - Attending a theater performance in London and visiting Shakespeare's birthplace.
- France, Amboise - Traveling to Paris for a three-day excursion which includes a tour of the Latin Quarter, the Musée D'Orsay, and Notre Dame
- France, La Rochelle - Soaking in the sun of this historic French seaside town with a finale excursion to Paris!
- Germany, Berlin - Enjoying a city tour of Berlin and travel to the Czech capital of Prague.
- Italy, Florence - Discovering Rome during a two-day excursion which includes visits to the Vatican City, the Coliseum and the Piazza Navona.
- Spain, Granada - Exploring Madrid, the capital of Spain and the fascinating city of Toledo during the program finale
- Western Europe Tour - Traveling to three exciting cultural capitals starting in London, England, continuing to Paris, France and concluding in Barcelona, Spain
- Costa Rica, Alajuela- Exploring the great outdoors with adventure trips to rainforests, beaches, coral reefs and volcanoes
- Mexico, Oaxaca - Combining classroom learning and service learning plus a beach exploration to beautiful Puerto Escondido.
- Japan, Tokyo - Embracing the modern and traditional culture of Japan. Visit the cutting edge fashion district of Harajuku and the typical Japanese country town of Chichibu
- China, Kunming - Experiencing the vibrant heritage of China through guided tours to Beijing, Lijiang and Shanghai.
- South Africa, Capetown - Discovering the Southern tip of the African continent with its diverse people and landscapes. Enjoy a 5 day exploration excursion to a Wild Life Game Reserve
- Switzerland, Geneva - Experience the challenges and opportunities of today's global economy in Geneva.
High School Month Immersion:
Experience your host country's culture in a way that a typical tourist cannot! Live with a host family, take part in their daily activities and enjoy a summer study abroad to remember. No previous language experience is required. These four-week high school summer programs include:
- Homestay with a carefully selected local family
- Ability to immerse yourself in local language and culture
Month Immersion programs are available in:
- Brazil - Discover the warm family oriented culture of Brazil
- France - Students may choose to be placed in the St. Malo, Arcahon or Brétigny areas
- Japan - Attend a local Japanese high school
- Spain - Students will be placed in the Madrid, Barcelona or Salamanca areas.
